Evaluation of geomechanical properties and stability analysis of rocks in deviation tunnel of Darband dam by using of engineering classification of rock mass method

Abstract :
In primary and feasibility stage of designing a project there is a few information about geotechnical properties, insitue stress and hydrogeological properties of rock mass. In this stage, engineering classification of rock mass as the base of experimental design method can be used widely in underground excavation design. This paper presents an investigation of the engineering geological characteristics along the diversion tunnel of? Darband dam site. Geotechnical and geomechanical characteristics of rock masses along the diversion tunnel was investigated by using drilling data, laboratory and field test result. A few suggestions on the tunnel support presented according to the Q- system and Rock mass Rating (RMR) method.
