Abstract :

Land subsidence is reduction in land elevation under the influence of changes which occured or replaced under the land surface. This phenomenon happens after withdrawing irregularly from aquifers.Land subsidence has reported from several parts of Iran. According to the pizometerwells in Mashhad, because of irregular use of aquifers, water level has failed more than60meters for last 40 years. Land subsidence has occured in this area because of withdrawing aquifers and geological and physical properties of sediments. In parts of studing area, problems of land subsidence are severe and can be seen as earth fissures, curved casings and uplifting of casings.
