Abstract :
We can find four major structural trends (N-S, NW-SE, NE-SW, E-W) in eastern Iran. Faults interaction between N-S and NW–SE right lateral striking fault zones, created contractional zones. We believe that dominated of N-S striking right lateral fault zones had principal role in deformation of this area. Many of mentioned contractional zones (restraining zones) formed in over lap of N-S striking right lateral fault zones. Range of compression component variation is: a) pureng and cheshme zangi (027/09)-(041/10) b) shoorak and chakhoo (357/04) – (056/08) c) marghzar (048/10). Shortening variations of folds in the Tertiary sedimentary sequences rocks from north xo south is: x) 14-36% b) 25 – 46 % c) more than 48 %. Similarity in trend and mechanism of faults that formed restraining zones caused increasing in the symmetry of romboheral blocks in these zones. Because of this, average of long diameter / short diameter in torshab is 3.1 and in kasrab is 3.81. Because of NE-SW trending main displacement component, N-S right lateral strike-slip faults reactivated in the preexisting structUres and restraining zones formed in the overlap of these fault zones.
