Analysis of folding in south of doruneh fault and relation of it with fault zone in SE of Torbat-e-Heydarieh

Abstract :

zone ,SE of Torbate-heydarieh (NE Iran).The majority of fault surfaces reveal a N10x,60SW and slickensine shows N180,x9 trend. These faults are reverse with right-lateral component main stress axes of faults are σ1=N187,15-σ2=N278,5-σ3=N24,75 Internal of these faults, oligocene gray sandstone is characterized by NW-SE trending synclinals. The majority of fold axes reveal a N275,10 trend and their fault surfaces is N100,62SW.The majority of fold axes reveal a N275,10 trend and their fault surfaces is N100,62SW.Oriantion of axes based of fold analyse is: a=N11,25- b=N275,10- c=N170,60.-The mechanism of synclinals s formation is a combination of compaction and shearing, and it is related to forming of faults and shows the consistency between formation of folds with faults.
