Abstract :
In the southwest of Birjand , the neogene igneous rocks have outcroped. These rockes have occurred in paleocene flysch type. These bodies is made of microquartzmonzodiorite , trachyandesite, andesite and dacite.The main texture in these rocks is porphyric. Their phenocrysts are plagioclase, hornblende and biotite. plagioclases are andesin to oligoclase with zoning. pyroxene , quartz and opaque minerals are in groundmass. Hornblende have burned rim..These rocks are calcalkaline and have formed in active continental margins.
