Abstract :
Sardasht pillow lava is located at the north of sardasht village which is reachable through the road from Fariman to Asadabad, considered as a part of Iran central northern Ophiolite. Studying the XRD analyses of samples taken from the outer part of this unit shows the formation of Albite as the main phase and clinochlor as the sub phase of rock forming minerals. Based on the XRF analyses, related to samples taken from the Basalt, Diabas, plagiogranite, Gabbro plotted in the TAS diagrams, the Basaltic samples placed in the alkaline Basalt area but its feeding Diabase and related Gabbros show petrogenetic affinity with tholeiitic magmas. Studying of binary diagrams Na2O versus SiO2 and KO2 shows distraction for Na2O, despite of regular increase for K2O., Comparing of these pillow lavas with Hawaii tholeiitic basalt shows increasing of Na2O, which is replaced by CaO, leads to formation of Albite as the main plagioclase and spilitization of outer part of pillow lavas.
