Abstract :
Depositional Environment Interpretation of Kariz-Bolagh Strata (Upper Paleocen), Based on Lithifacies study, SE Fariman The study erea has been located in south east of Fariman, Eocene in age. Additionally, based on our field and microscopic study two major facies association has been identified. Terrestrial facies consists conglomerate (mostly polymictic) and sandstone (mostly litharenite), and carbonate facies (mostly packstone). In this area some type of macrofossils as brachiopoda gastropoda, echiodermata has been identified In addition, at the top of this strata, several gypsum beds are exsist. So, we believe, the depositional environments are mainly restricted marine platform and open marine platform. Moreover Locally, several channel fills are present, as braided type.
