Abstract :

Engineering geological study is one of the main pillars of calculations in planning and manipulation of civil constructions. In this investigation, the engineering geological and hydrogeological conditions of foundation rocks in Kheir Abad dam is studied using the results obtained from boreholes and laboratory studies. Based on the results of measurements, the foundation rocks are made of mudstone, sandstone and siltstone sedimental rocks , classified as EL. Also hydrologically, the underground water level in the right bank is higher than the river level, the right bank feeding the river, while in the left bank this level is lower than the river level, the river feeding its left bank.
