Abstract :
Abtalkh Formation is one of the formations in Kopet-Dagh basin, northeastern of Iran. This formation in Hamam-Gale section with 36◦ 54' 25" N latitude and 59◦ 51' 29" E longitude in base consists of 960 m of light green to dark gray calcarious shales.Oxygen variation and sedimentation rate during accumulation of this formation reconstructed by studying 270 palynologycal slides of 65 collected samples and using three main groups of palynological elements including palynomacerals, palynomorphs, structure-less organic matter (SOM).The ecological factors such as Lability, (T)/ (Op) ratio, SOM/Mp ratio revealed that during accumulation Abtalkh Formation oxygen and sedimentation rate had been variable, but totally amount of oxygen had been high and sedimentation rate had been low. At the base, upper part and some part of middle of formation amount of oxygen had been low and sedimentation rate had been low.
