Abstract :

The Abtalkh Formation composed of light gray to bluish green shale and marl widely exposed in Mashhad – Kalat road.Abtalkh Formation been reported to vary from 510 –813m thick and is 508 m thick in the studie area (6 km to Babafarji village).Abtalk Formation overlies comformably the Abderaz Formation and is comformably overlies by the predommantly sandy Nizar Fornation .For the detail biostratigraphy studies, only the 333m of upper part of the Abtalk Formation was investigated.A biostratigraphy study of calcareous nannofossiles from Abtalk Formation has allowed the recogenition of the calcareous nannofossils biozones of sissingh (1977)CC21, CC22, CC23.
