Abstract :
Presence of clayey rocks (shale, marm, claystone, etc) causemany problems, in most of civil projects. Since Barzoo dam site is composed of limestone layers with shale and marl interbeds, which can be washed out, so can cause seepage and leakahe of water from dam foundation and abutments. So in this research, the behaviour of shale and marl anterbeds in relation to isolation of water by using water pressure test (Lougan) were evaluated. In abdition, the effect of geological condition of dam site on behaviour of these interbeds was studied and in this relation, some appropriate recommendations were presented.
