Abstract :
New investigations in the deposits related to Eta umit of the Eocene middle complex in the area north of Birjand has led to new discoveries of more vertebrate footprints, among which are the best preserved footprints yet have been found. These tracks consisting of 3 footprints in a single trackyway, could be assigned as perrisdactyl mammal footprints are reported from this area and Iran. The study of the affinities in the northern Birjand ichnfauna with other known faunas reveals that these vertebrate footprints are precisely comparable with Uinta Formation ichnofauna in Utah , the United States.
