Abstract :
The study area is located in the eastern part of Kopet- Dagh basin - Based on the Cenomanian Turonian studies, three sections were selected and 86 samples were collected.
In total, 60 species of 34 genera of microfossils were recognized, and there range chart of then were drawed and 5 biozones distinguished. The boundary of Aitamir- Abderaz Formations are paraconformable - This boundary in Mozduran pass is changed Late Cenomanian to Middle Turonian and the other sections are Late Cenomanian to Early Turonian .The boundary which determined is compatible with Paleontological and Geochemical studies.
On the base of fauna, upper Shale of Aitamir Formation was deposited in a deep water (>100m) Then, in the boundary area, depositional environment changed to shallowed and Sandstones deposited in this environmental area . In the base of Abderaz Formation, there is a deposite of Marl and it is a sign of deep environment.
