Abstract :

Chah poloon mining index is located at 54km in the west of Ferdows(north latitude34 10’ and east latitude 57 45’20’’).
From geological situation this area is part of Lut zone and is located at end of its northeast.
The oldest outcrop which is observed in the studied area is Cretaceous Limestone which is coverd by the equivalent Kerman Conglomerate;and both are overlined by the volcanic rocks.
From structural geology point of view tow fault systems are observed in thestudied area:
1-The major system shows a NE-SW trend and copper(Cu) mineralization has been formed within this system.
2-The minor system with an E-W trend has cut the major faults caused some dislocation within them.
Volcanic rock classification shows that rocksfrom older to younger-types include Dacite,Trachydacite,Rhyolite and Andesite. It is be noted that outcrop of green tuff is observed to a limited extent.
