Abstract :
Fariman-Torbatejam Catchment is located at Khorsan Razavi Province and east limit of Kopedagh-Binalood Units. The area of this Catchment is approximately 6300 km2 of which about 3500 Km2 is plain and the others are mountains. More people in the region are farmer and groundwater resources are unique source of water for drinking and agricultural purposes. Over-exploitation of the groundwater resources leads to a decline of groundwater levels as 1.44 m/year and the total depletion in groundwater resource is estimated at about 260 million m3. During the recent years, changing in water quality associated with water table decline in this region. This paper deals with the relation between groundwater decline and water quality based on the available data.
