Abstract :

Discoasters is one of the most important nannofossil groups for age determination of Tertiary deposits. By this means 8 samples were selected from uppermost part of Khangiran Formation. In Sarakhs area Khangiran Formation is covered conformly with Neogene deposits. In this study some of these species for example Discoaster tanii and D.nodifer,D.deflandrei were identified .Based on the fossil assemblage the interval late Eocene to Early Oligocene (NP21) is suggested for the uppermost part of Khangiran Formation in Sarahks area
