Abstract :

Doosti Dam is situated on Harirud River on Iran -Turkmenistan boundary. Dam reservoir is 1250 mcm & height of dam is 80 m. type of dam is earth fill with Silty core. Geological formations in Iran side are mosdy Marie, shale & argjllite and in Turkmenistan side is Limestone, Sandston, Limy sandstone. Grout curtain is containing of 1-3 rows of borehole around dam axis in grouting gallery along dam foundation and one row in outside of dam body (300 m in length) in Turkmenistan side. Depths are between 20 m(in Iran side) to 100 m (in Turkmen side). Also in right bank (Turkrnen side) in level 4W m for better execution of grout curtain one grouting tunnel excavated. Total length of drilling in pianning was 46000 m and in execution was 73000 m. After water storing little by little water seepage in down stream observed. Therefore contractor, con!uJtant and the client together started to know and solve the problem.
Maximum seepages in collectors and springs were 35 lit/sec in level 444 of reservoir.
Tracing, drilling of observation holes, controlling and managing are executed and also some studying is Continuing.
