Abstract :
The Pahne kamar Pb-Zn ore deposit is located in Southwest Birjand in South Khorasan province.This area is situated at suture zone between Lut block and East
Iran flysh suture zone. The main litology of the area is shale, marl, sandstone, conglomerate and limestone from Triassic up to Quaternary..These rocks are intruded by some plutonic rocks with Paleocene age. The contact metamorphism is occur following intrusions and yieldedhornfels, metatuff, marble, meta sandstone.
The lead and zinc mineralization are occur in two sections of southern and northern zone.there are some dirences in mineralization in two sections in term of geology, mineralization type and assay results. The northern zone is the most important section that consists of Pb_Ag+/-Zn vein situated along of the Pahneh Kamar fault as fracture filling. In Southern section Pb-Zn (Au-Ag) mineralization is occurring as vein system. The dolomite is host rock of the mineralization in northern section while hornfels host mineralization at southern section. In term of mineralogy Galena, Pyrite, Hematite and Goethite are main ore minerals in study area.
seen in 2 parts in Pahne Kamar prospect, S zone and N zone. These zone have different aspects in therm of geology and mineralization. The most important mineralization in N-zone is Pb-Ag with less Zn which are laid along the pahne kamar fault in tectonic breccia and fault gauge (fracture filling type). and Pb-Zn(Au-Ag) vein type mineralization are seen in the S-zone. The host rocks of mineralization in North zone are limestone and dolomite whereas the hornfels and phyllite are the host rocks of the Pb-Zn veins in S-Zone. Galena, pyrite, goetite are the most important economic minerals in the Pahneh Kamar area.
