Abstract :
The Kouh-e-shah area, in south west of Birjand, shows outcrop of volcano sedimentary rocks with sub-volcanic intrusive bodies and hydrothermal alteration similar to high sulphidation epithermal and porphyry systems. Airborne data of magnetic, radiometric and electromagnetic was collected in the study area.
Geophysical anomalies correlate with hydrothermal alteration and mineralization zones which the interpretation of the results represents complex patterns of subcircular to ellipsoid area to north-east to south-west direction in the northern part of the study area. This response is similar to the other known porphyry system in Iran and the world. This study indicates the importance and the role of airborne geophysical data to the effective identification of presence and exploration of hydrothermal alteration and porphyry related mineralization systems.
