Abstract :
The Neyshabour Turquoise mine is located in 55 km north west of Neyshabour city. Rock units in the study area are volcanic (trachyte, latite, andesite, hornblende trachyte, biotite latite, hornblende latite andesite and latite andesite), subvolcanic (diorite porphyry) and breccias (volcanic, fault and hydrothermal breccias). The diorite porphyry can be the source rock of the disseminated and stockwork mineralization in the area. These units have been altered to argillic, silicification, silicification-argillic, carbonation, weak silicification-propylitic, tourmaline and silicification-carbonation zones. Magnetic susceptibility of low altered volcanic and intrusive rocks is 50×10-5 SI to 255×10-5 SI. Therefore, these rocks belong to magnetite series. Hypogen sulfide and oxide minerals as disseminated, stockwork, secondary mineralization such as turquoise are associated with volcanic and intrusive rocks.
