Geochemical Investigations and Identify Mineralization Fields in Shahrokh Exploration Area

Abstract :

Shahrokh prospected area is located in northeast Iran and 88 kilometers east of Gonabad city in Khorasan Razavi province. Exploration Studies in this region were performed with scale 1:25000 on a 120 km2 area with 488 stream sediment samples taken and also 224 heavy mineral samples. After Preparation, Geochemical samples were analyzed for 51 elements with ICP-MS method at Kan Iran lab. After assurance of accuracy of the chemical analysis results, censoring the data and neutralizing the upstream rock effects, processing data and statistical parameters calculation are emprised. Then uni-variant and multi-variant statistical processing such as the calculation of correlation coefficients, cluster analysis, principal components analysis were performed on obtained data and their results have been interpreted. As a result of foregoing analysis, in this study mining areas related to two groups of elements identified in the study area include first group element (Cd, Pb, Zn, Bi, Ag, W, As, Cu, Te & Rb) and second group element (Sc, Fe, Co, Mn, & Sb). Than uni-variant and multi-variant maps drawn with Geo Estimate software. Finally, with combining geochemical data, heavy minerals, mineralization, alteration and faults density information, the ٤ prospected areas include Kal Shahrokh field (Fe & Mo±Au) , The north of Garnet Mine field (Cu-Au), The south of Garnet Mine field (Au & Fe) and Shahrokh field (Au) in Shahrokh exploration region have been defined. Obtained Infomation can be used for preliminary explorations stage.
Based on present study and field observation the type of mineralization in study area is vein with disseminated texture is some parts.
