IOCG prospectivity modelling in Taherabad using geological, alteration, geochemical and geophysical data

Writers : Najafi, Ali; Karimpour, Mohammad Hassan; Ghaderi,Majid
Refference : 2nd National Symposium of Iranian Society of Economic Geology
Publishing Year : 1390

Abstract :

Most of the rock units which exposed in Taherabad quadrangle are intermediate pyroclastic and lava which intruded by shallow intrusive bodies and demonstrated silicicsericiteic-chloritic (minor argillic and iron oxide) alteration. Intrusive bodies are I-type and K-rich calc-alkaline to shoshonitic. Existence of vein-type copper accompanied by specularite is evidence which dispose the study area for Iron-oxide copper gold deposits. By the integration of geology, alteration, geochemistry and geophysical data base on knowledge-driven methods (index overlay and fuzzy logic) demonstrated the mineral favorable area for this type of mineralization.
