Abstract :

In the preliminary exploration stage, promising areas should be covered with surveying, observation and sampling, after identifying the promising area. The aim of this paper is to recognize the best exploration promising areas by using remote sensing image processing and designing the optimum path in the field surveying encompassed 55 km2 in the southern Birjand. For this purpose, first the best promising area was obtained by remote sensing image processing. Then, by overlaying these areas with the anomaly area which obtained by geochemical stream sediment exploration in previous work, validation of promising areas have been confirmed. In the next stage, according to results of geochemical exploration and heavy mineral study, Probable mineral deposits of the area have been modeled. At last, the optimum survey path has been designed as a map with considering the topographical relief map and promising areas. In the final map, some node points, with definite spatial coordinate, designed for finding the best path. One of the strength points of this paper is not only to determine promising areas but also to design the optimum survey path for field operation.
