Abstract :
Shahabad shear zone with non parallel margin is notable in north-east of Birjand (distances of 15 km). Although No direct event seismic along faulting around Birjand exist in 20th century, but evidences neotectonic and the significance of the faulting near Birj and for descriptions of the local seismic hazard (as the present-day activity of many of the faults has not previously been described). In this paper, We use field observations and deterministic method to seismic hazard zoning. The largest horizontal Component of the PGA over the city is 0.63 g from southern fault in Birjand seismic power of 7.3 Richter. The high to very high risk zones in the study area are in the areas of the Marak and Kuch on north-east of Birjand.
