Abstract :
Bagheran Mountain in the south of Birjand is part of ophiolite mélange in northern of Sistan suture zone which has active tectonic regime. Morphotectonical evidences in this mountain show its activity which drainage is one of the most important of them. Drainage pattern in the erosion part of the mountain is dendrite and in the rigid part has rectangular pattern. In this essay part of this region is studied with the use of fractal analysis. Fractal dimension of drainage in this mountain was calculated with the box counting method. The fractal dimension for the northern and southern slope was calculated as 1.99 and 1.89. The lower value for the southern slope indicates the higher raising of this region.
Cross sections in this mountain with northern trend show increasing in the deep of the northern slope than southern slope show movement of material is to the south and predominant structural deep direction is to the north. The more uplifting in southern slope than northern slope is distinguished in both structural evidence and fractal dimension, show structural inversion in the southern slope in Bagheran Mountain.
