Abstract :
Calcite fibers were examined and measured in abundant extensional fractures developed in Siyah-Kamar brittle shear zone in Hired area south of Birjand. Despite of the orientation of the fractures, in every fracture, fibers were generated perpendicular to the wall rock. Three types of growth direction are existing in these fractures: the first are straight fractures, the second are fractures with variable orientations and the third are veins that their orientation was changed along their strike. Geometry of the fibers indicates the extension in all directions which is concordant with the flattening deformation in the Siyah-Kamar brittle shear zone.
