Abstract :

The complex of Givshad is located in southwest of Birjand. This complex are contain Tertiary sub-volcanic rocks in ophiolite melange complex and Paleocene flysch type. In this complex, ring faults trapped the central block. With near magma chamber to surface, the maximum value of the shear stress(σ1-σ3) occur at the outer margins of the magma chamber, hence first fractures are created. The minimum value of the tensile stress (σ3) must be located at a radial distance at surface. The maximum tensile at surface must peak at surface of the magma chamber or the angle a should be in the range or lower than (θ=10-15°). The sub-vertical ring fault formed and filled by magma. An injection of magma along the ring fault will then cause this central piston to subsidence, while the created void above the piston fills with andesite magma and thus Givshad ring complex formed, with andesite vertical walls and subsidence floor.
