Abstract :
The study area is located 5736., ¾ E and 3558., ¾ E. It is situated within Zabzevar zone. Host rocks are mainly Eocene calc-alkaline andesite and dacite. Oligocene-Miocene Sub-volcanic monzonite, quartz monzonite, monzodiorite and diorite porphyry are mapped for the first time in the study area. Both volcanic and intrusive rocks are altered. propylitic, argillic, slicification and sericitic alteration are mapped both on ASTER satellite data processing and field study. Both stream sediments and rock geochemical study revealed high Cu, Pb, Zn anomalies and good zoning. Highest Cu in rock chip is 595 ppm, Zn, 9600 ppm and Pb 719 ppm.
There is good correlation between alteration and geochemical anomalies and zoning. Based the monzonite-quartz monzonite-diorite porphyry, shape-size-type of alteration and geochemical anomalies this area has great potential exploring for Cu-Au porphyry type deposit.
