Abstract :

The studied area, situated about 106km SW of Birjand, and is part of magmatic assemblage of the lut block. That mostly consists of andesite, dacite, latite and aglomerate. The intrusive rocks are micro-diorite.
Hydrothermal alterations are kolinitic, limonitic – kaolinitic and silisic alterations, and are widespread in the area. This paper discusses, in detail, how to use image processing methods, especially used Crosta technique that depended on multivariate statistics such as eigenvector, eigenvalue, correlation matrix and PCA to enhance and extract image information for hydrothermal alteration mapping, finally with combined remote sensing study with geological, geochemical and aeromagnetic data, Khoonic promising area can be considered as an important aim for detail exploration of gold.
