Abstract :
The Hyred gold deposit is located in east of Iran, Khorasan province. Extraction methods such as tank leaching or vat leaching could not be effective Because of very low gold grade of the ore, ca. 1 ppm. Therefore, column leaching test was performed on samples containing 0.7 ppm gold. pH ,grain size and solution flow rate were kept constant at 10.5 , < 1 inch and 7.6 lit/hr.m2, respectively. Solutions containing 1500 and 2500 ppm cyanide were used. Results show that the best gold recovery at 12 days period using 5.2 kg of cyanide and 1.33 kg of lime for processing of about 1 tone of ore is 74 percent. Increasing the time did not significantly added to the gold recovery.
