Abstract :

The middle to upper Jurassic sediments at western Binalud range contain limestone, marl and marly limestone.For the interpretation of these sediments, their facies and sedimentary environments have been studied. These sediments have a conformity with underlying terrigenous sediments and overlying massive limestones. Field and laboratory experiments have led to identification of A, B and C types facies. A- type comprises two subfacies includes terrigeonus facies and intraclastic packstone facies that indicates high energy coastal environment. B type copmprise three subfacies includes pelloidal packstone, sandy mudstone and pelloidal mudstone that results from the basin depth´s increasing and environmental energy decreasing that indicates lagoonal environment. Finally, C-type comprise two high energy facies includes bioclastic packstone and grainstone that indicates barrier environment.
