Abstract :
Kajeh Cu-Au porphyry prospecting area is located 50 Km North West of Ferdows, in Western Lut Zone.
Host rocks are mainly Tertiary rhyodacite, dacite, andesite and trachy-andesite and Cretaceous limestone and Kerman conglomerate. Oligo-Miocene Granite, monzonite and diorite intruded the Eocene and older rocks. They are the source of mineralization and alteration. They are calc-alkaline and formed in continental subduction setting. Both satellite data processing and field work revealed several alteration zoning: silicification, argillic, sericitic and propylitic. Propylitic with different intensities enclosing sericite and argillic alteration. Around Rahimi mountain intense silicification.Mineralization is found mainly along the major fault and some within the joint and fractures that exist mainly replacement and stockwork less. Hypogene minerals are chalcopyrite, galena, pyrite and secondary cu and Fe oxides. Both rocks and stream sediments shows Cu, Au, Pb, Zn, Ag, Mo anomalies. High Cu is 4.8% and Au 9000 ppb.
Based on the petrochemistry of intrusive rocks, alteration type-zoning-shape, geochemical anomalies and mineralization area has potential for Cu-Au mineralization maybe porphyry type.
