Abstract :

at, Shirvan, Gonbad Deraz, Dalbaran, Tabas and Birjand in various Neogene deposits crop out in parts of Khorasan areas. So far, no systematic fossil studies were carried out in the above-mentioned areas For the first time the biostratigraphic zonation of a reous nannoplankton from the Neogene of Khor .are reportedThe main purpose of this study is to establish the biostratigraphic zonation, as well as correlating the with the universally accepted standard biozones. From the nannofossils obtained, the sample interval is in the . ,NN 11, NN 12, NN 15, NN 18 of Martini standard zonationFrom this investigation, fourteen genera and thirty three species were identified. Based on nannofossil, an age range of late Miocene to Miocene- Pliocene boundary, as well as latest to latest part of late Pliocene are indicated.
