Abstract :
There are several mafic units in volcanic-sedimentary sequence in west of mashhad which can be interpreted as sill because of their chilled margin and concordant setting with other units such as sedimentary or volcanic. In microscopic studies, olivine is not seen but pyroxene or plagioclase with their alteration products such as termolite-actinolite and epidote can prove mafic nature of these rocks. Pyroxene composition in these rocks are Ojite to Endiopside and high content of aluminum and titanium demonstrate high temperature of crystallizing of pyroxene.
