Abstract :
As a nondestructive test the spectral analysis of surface waves (SASW) method has been used to determine the shear wave velocity or shear modulus profiles of site. The SASW method is based upon the dispersive characteristic of seismic surface waves (Rayleigh) in layered media. In this study, the SASW method is introduced and the results compared with Down Hole Test (DHT) as a destructive method in 9 point of Mashhad city. This results shows reliable superposition between shear wave profile of two methods, SASW and DHT up to 16m depth.
