Abstract :
Sedimentary rocks same as limestone covered about 10 to 15 percent of earth surface. Due to construction of many structures on this type of rocks, study of these rocks is necessary. The Tirgan formation of lower certaceous composed of thick to massive limestone with interlayers of marls.This formation is widely spread in kopet-dagh in northeast of Iran. many structures were constructing on Tirgan formation. In this paper based on laboratory tests empirical relations between some properties of Tirgan limestone such as: density, porosity, water absorption, UCS and elastic modulus have been determined.
