Abstract :

Metabasits of Mashhad are commonly located in Khalaj, around Shandiz, Rezashahr and Abobargh area.
This collection is located in Binaluod zone. Metamorphic and Igneous rocks of this zone are mainly in south and west parts of Mashhad and contained of three regional metamorphism phases and two granitization phase in which ultramafics interfered . Mafic rocks are regionally metamorphosed and it is low to medium grade. In order to determine the type of magma and tectonic environment the collected samples are analyzed by XRF. As the metamorphism is occurred in closed conditions, it is possible to use different geochemical diagrams. These metabasites are tholeiite and low potassium type and they are from ocean floor.
