Abstract :
Basiran section are located at NW of Nehbandan in Central Lut.Late Cretaceous
(Maistrichtian) deposits in this area consist of limestone ,marly limestone ,sandy limestone,sandstone and conglomerate that by angular unconformity overlying
�the Shemshak formation shale and sandstone deposits.The systematic studies of samples leds to the identification of different species of Omphalocyclus,Orbitoides,
Siderolites,Lepidorbitoides,and Hellenocyclina which� suggested the Maistrichtian age for these sediments.
