Abstract :
for determine the initiation of normal and strike slip faults nucleation in groung area (west of birjand), Thirty four shear zones of extentional type which exposed over length of several meters to few tens of metres, have been analysed. Most of the shear zones are arranged in conjugate sets, generally striking NE-SW and dipping on average 75 toward both NW and SE. The brittle-ductile Shear zones analaysed in this area, demonstrate that significant normal and strike slip faults nucleation starts to occur for shear strain values (y) around 1.2.
