Abstract :
The Paleocene andesite, trachy-andesite, andesite-basalt and tuff are the dominate exposed rock in the area. Oligo-Miocene granite-granodiorite intruded the volcanic and older rocks. Propylitic, silicified, chloritic and in some area argillic and sercitic alteration are recognized.
Geochemical exploration carried within an area about 12 Km2. Thirty three stream sediment and 30 rock chip samples were taken. More than 70% of stream sediment samples show Au anomaly, sample No.26 has Au=19.5 ppb. Au anomaly also detected in some rock samples. Cu and Fe anomalies are found both in rock and stream sediments. High Cu>1% in samples 12 & 15 west of Palvarzeh. High Fe > 40% found in north of Nick town.
Based on alteration (chlorite, silicification & sericite), magnetite-specularite-chalcopyrite and geochemical anomalies, the mineralization is Iron Oxides Cu-Au type.
