Abstract :

Akhlamad Ancient barrier is about 300-400 years old, 17 kilometers Chenaran city in Khorasan Razavi province is located. This barrier is in a broad valley with a crest length of 225 meters and one of the basic types of Iranian ancient batteries barriers. Unique features of this barrier is construction of its foundation, the foundation has been constructed of rubble stone and Sarooj mortar because it is impossible to eliminate the alluvial sediments . Other features of this barrier is four towers in the barrier, provide three levels for the withdrawal of water. This barrier is composed of stone materials, brick, Sarooj mortar, ash and calcareous body. Due to continuous usage in many years, has been a lot of damage so that it is necessary to repair the historical barrier. Because of Akhlamd is historical and cultural construction, it needs to improvement and rehabilitation of ancient barrier.
