Abstract :

The study area is located in North East of Iran. Fractal approach on regional faults and their seismic activity area is studied. The study area is divided into 18 squares. Based on cell counting method, for earthquakes, faults and later related fractal separately calculated. based on cell counting results, respective logarithmic graphs are plotted. According to the results, the next highest fractal for faults related to the South East area and conform the center of the earthquake. Also observed that areas that had complex fault geometry, then also have a larger fractal.
