Abstract :
Esfandyar formation, with late Jurassic age, from viewpoint of litho facies, sedimentary basins conditions have not been taken into consideration. Therefore, a section in Birg mountain in west of Lut block selected to study this litho facies and sedimentary environment of this formation that have suitable development in central Iran. In the section, The Sfandyar formation with 288 meters thickness its lower part with Qaleh Dokhtar is transitional, and its upper part is a sequence of conglomerate with propable Eocene age . The result of petrology of the Esfandyar formation showed 56 micro facial that placed in carbonate platform of marginal type. The effected diagenetic process caused micritization, cementation, dissolving, pressure, biologic confusion, geo‐petal fabrics, fenestral, dolomitization as alternative process; ferriting and vaporization. Digenetic process considerations show the effects of meteorological digenetic, marine and burial environment.
