Abstract :

The study of diagenesis of carbonate sequence of Badamu Formation at Birg Mountain section (south of Sarayan, Southern Khorasan) has led to identification of various diagenetic processes. Both field and lab works (study of microscopic thin sections) on the samples of Badamu Formation revealed different diagenetic processes e.g. cementation, compaction (stylolite), replacement (dolomitization), dissolution, porosity (primary and secondary) and geoptal fabric which indicate the effect of marine, meteoric and burial diagenetic environments.
