Abstract :

The study of diagenesis of the carbonate member of Qaleh Dokhtar Formation at Birg Mountain section led to identification of different diagenetic processes. The most important diagenetic features which were observed based on field works and study of microscopic thin sections prepared from the samples of Qaleh Dokhtar Formation includes: cementation, compaction and pressure dissolution (stylolites), secondary porosity, bioturbation, replacement (dolomitization, silicification and hematitization).
