Abstract :
Study area is located between Nehbandan to Shahdad in the chahvak map. Primary Litho logy units consist of acid to intermediate volcanic rock and pyroclastic rocks. Satellite image processing is a new method of exploration toward understanding metallic and non-metal mineralization. SensorETM + 7 images for mapping areas have been used. Given that alteration zones; as one of the indicators, are considered exploratory and knowledge in these areas can be useful for regional scale exploration operations. Different minerals in different wavelengths with different absorption and reflection, are the properties that are used for detection. This study has tried considering litho logy and geological region, using band ratio for making the separation of altered regions to provide the appropriate types. By images from Land sat ETM + 7 site alteration, hydroxyl, iron oxides and clay minerals were identified by color of each one in the region and facilitate the path for further explorations and utilization of available resources in the Lutblock area.
