Abstract :

The thickness of Chaman-Bid Formation is 235 meters in Maymay section and including marl-limestone and marl intercalations. Different species are found in the studied section from the following genera: Calliphylloceras, Choffatia, Hecticoceras, Holcophylloceras, Homoeoplanulites, Indosphynctes, Macrocephalites, Perisphinctes, Phylloceras, Ptychophylloceras. Chaman- Bid Formation in Mayamay section is late Bathonian to Callovian age based on identified ammonites and its stratigraphic position. Identified ammonies assemblage fauna could suggest four biozone in studied section. From paleobiogeographical point of view, identified ammonites belong to sub- Mediterranean province that is belong to Tethys realm.
