Geochemical behaviour of Potassium and some trace elements in K-feldspars and muscovites of south Mashhad Pegmatites

Abstract :
Geochemical analysis of K and some trace elements, such as Pb, Cr, Rb, and LI of K-feldspars and muscovites of pegmatites swarm complex present in Ching-Kalagh and Chashlagh- Saeedabad granitoid stocks in south Mashhad indicate that the mineral constituents of these pegmatites are not formed as a result of a simple partial crystallization in the region. Absence of a single factor to show an increase or a decrease in K/Rb ratio is itself an indication of this fact. In other words, the above-mentioned pegmatltes present in these two regions were resulted during the melting process of previously existing solid materials whose primary consituents were different and had partial meltings, which subsequently led to different types of crystatlizatin. ft seems that, at least, parts of the muscovites present in them were formed in the pegmatites in the final stages, and as a result of the association and intermingling of H20's released from the melt flow on the K- feldspars.
