Abstract :
Zouzan granitoid body in East of Gonabad with upper Eocene or Oligocene age were intruded in Sardar Fomation rocks and Eocene volcanic rocks. This granitoid body shows compositional spectrum from monzogranite to granodiorite but tonalitic and syenogranitic rocks are rarely also present. On the basis of major, minor and trace element variation diagrams, it could be say that they were formed under fractional crystallization from a unique source. Most rocks of the pluton are I- type showing calc alkaline and metaluminous nature, patterns of trace elements on spider diagrams showing negative anomalies to Nb, Ta, Ba, Nd, Sm, Ti and positive anomalies to Th, K and Zr. Enrichment of ULE and HFSE showing I- type metaluminous magmatizm of volcanic arc granitoid (VAG). The unfractionated HREE patterns suggest that the magmas were produced outside the garnet stability field whereas the negative Eu anomalies in the same samples could indicate the stability of plagioclase in the some source. All these features are consistent with low pressure (<8 kbar).
