Abstract :
The Upper Jurassic (Kimmiridgian-Tithonian) Mozduran Formation in Kopet-Dagh Basin is mainly composed of Carbonate rocks and with amounts of silisiclastic and evaporate sediments. For study of this Formation,One stratigraphic section in north-west Mashad (780 m thick) have been studied. Petrographic study of this Formation caused to identified 4 carbonate facies that concludes 14 carbonate and 2 terrigenous facies.According to rock facies depositional environment of this formation is a homoclinal carbonate ramp.Relative sea-level change caused to 4 sequence stratigraphic (3 rd order) of this section.Lower boundary of this super sequence is type 2 and upper boundary is erosional.Comprises of sea-level change in the section with global curve shows that general travel of transgression in both of them is similar and characterized by a transgressive super sequence. Most difference is in type of boundary and number of sequence that related to variation in sedimentary conditions of studied region.
